Ok...only I yell that when I'm playing golf...these guys that I saw at Quail Hollow...well, let's just say that word isn't a word they say as often as I do! :D
A friend of ours (Margee) called me and asked it I'd like to watch a practice round at Quail Hollow...she had 2 FREE tickets to go and watch...like I had to think about whether I wanted to go!?!? Of course I'll go! But finding someone to go with on such short notice was a challenge...I called and called and called...but just about everyone had plans already (i.e. work). I did get close...someone I called said they could go and would meet me at the Carowinds parking lot...but wouldn't you know it...as soon as I pulled up, my phone rings and the guy tells me he can't make it afterall. Bummer...so I had to go it alone.
Here's Sergio Garcia warming up...he was in the chipping area.
Here's Jim Furyk (white shirt) chatting it up at the driving range.
There were others that I saw too...Vijay Singh, Retief Goosen, Mark Calcavecchia, Chris DiMarco, Trevor Immelman, Scott McCarron, Camilo Villegas, Boo Weekley, etc. But no Phil or Tiger...I followed Anthony Kim (last year's winner) around for about 8 holes...all I can say is...he is THAT good!
Did I mention that this guy's got a pretty sweet swing? Check this out...
Great day, awesome course, impressive players, perfect weather...ah...the life of a professional golfer!
Ok...the other Lee girl is also growing up...real fast!
We had to do dinner the night before for Maddie's birthday since she had some other activities planned on her actualy birth day. Maddie's choice for dinner...Panera Bread! She LOVES that place...and her favorite item from their menu...Brocolli Cheddar soup in a breadbowl! It is VERY yummy!
For her birthday, Maddie took a couple of her friends to "Monkey Joe's"...it's a jumphouse place...slides...inflatibles...etc! These girls had lots of energy!
After that, a quick bite at Chick-Fil-A...
Mike, Meg and Maddie had their cousins over for some Easter egg fun...check out the fine tree climbing skills by Maddie!
Mike and his basketball team were recognized for their participation and contributions this past season...although they didn't finish where they wanted/hoped to, they did finish a lot further along than most would've thought. This was his team's first season playing together...hopefully they'll be back and better next year!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Well, this day is a day of horrors that's for sure. This date will be forever etched in my memory...it was my LAST day with E*TRADE. After 10 years with them my job was eliminated and my services were no longer needed. I was told at the beginning of the month that this was going to happen...but I guess it doesn't matter how much advance notice you're given, you're never ever prepared for your last day with a company.
I've gone through the full range of emotions from relief, sadness, anger, disappointment, etc and I'm sure I'll go through them again in the upcoming weeks/months as I look for new work. It's a bad time to be out of a job...unemployment is already high, the economy is in the toilet, real estate is dropping like a rock...but you know what, God is good and He will provide. I can't wait to see what He's got lined up for us next.
My loving and thoughful family decorated my home office for me...but more importantly showered me with love and encouragement despite the circumstances. I'm thankful for the lesson(s) we'll all learn from this.
