Our family just returned home from a wonderful weekend in Mexico. We didn't go to the typical vacation spots, but instead found a little spot of heaven on the edge of Tijuana. Last year, I had read an article written by Jennifer Pepito in the Old Schoolhouse Magazine. It was encouraging and thought-provoking. The Pepito family now lives in Mexico and invites families to come stay with them in order to experience missions together as a family unit. After reading this article, I contacted their family and we began a correspondence via email for about nine months or so.

In the sideblog yesterday, I mentioned that I sometimes feel like a failure for all that I’ve left undone. So much to do, so little time. This is why as mothers we have to choose well. So many details vie for our attention, and we have to constantly choose between A and B. If you’re a mom of many, I should say that sometimes you have to do A and B at the same time while letting go of C, but you know what I mean. God is our Shepherd, and He will help us to choose well if we are listening to His voice. That’s what I learned today.
Serving with communion is the fourth key to joy. All too often, I spend time with the Lord, reading His Word and praying, but then I rush into my day, trying to serve others, but neglect to continue to commune with God.
