Operation Christmas Child
I didn't get to post these photos back in December when Taryn, Stephen and I went to Samaritan's Purse in Charlotte to help volunteer to re-pack shoeboxes for Operation CC. Normally, by December 16th, most of the boxes would already be finished but due to the overwhelming response of those giving this year, they were asking for more and more volunteers to come during our week. The night we went, there were 1100
volunteers, the most they had in one single night that season. The shoebox goal that evening was 100,000. Their destination: the Ukraine and India. We worked steadily and quickly for 4 hours straight and had a lot of fun in the process. Stephen, another Stephen in our group and I beat the record of most shoeboxes in a carton packing in 24 boxes! The secret of course, was to pack all the same size boxes in just the right order. Shoeboxes come in so many different sizes and shapes these days that it is really harder to do than you might think!
